Dear Friend it is with
pleasure that i Seat my
Self this morning to drop
you afew lines to let
you know that i am
well and i hope these
few lines may Find
you all well and i
want you to wright
to me how you are a
giting a long with your
work and to let you know
that i am comeing home and
to see you tell Ruthy
to have some good old yel
low butter and some hot
biskets for breakfast and to
let yow knw that we
are agoing to whip out the

yanks and come home after
a While we are agoing to
come home after a while
and have a big dinner
and a fly around we
think that we will
be at home in about
2 months we have got
Some yankes prisners
down here and they say
that they are agoing to
whip us out til some
time in June they will
find a heep of difficulty
in doing that for the
South is a gitting read
hot now we have got
the spunk to stand up
to them i have got as
good infield rifle as
ever come along and i
can load and shoot as

fast as any man
i would like to see
him don here i would
like to Stand by your
Side in battle line tell
all the rest of the boys
that they mity as well
come on down here i
want you to take care
of the old woman till
i come home and when
you wright how She
is agiting along and
when i come home i
am a going to come
over and stay with
your old woman about
a week or ten days
for yow have got the
advantage of me now
but i will make it
up when i come home

help cut my wheat
if you can and any old
woman will pay you
for hit and i want
you to wright to me
whether you can help
or not wright soon as
this comes to hand
