august came to hand last night and
I was veary happy to here from you,
But I veary sorry to here that you
had Bin sick. Mother I Began to think
that you had give out Writing to me at
all; Mother I would hav sent you some
more things By Sophia, But did not hav
chance of geting them at time, We shall
Received some pay in the chorse of ten
Days, theare is four Months Dew
us the first of Sept, and as
sone I get some Money I Will
send you Some more things By the
first opportunity, We are faring veary
well here now about geting some
thing to eat, I hav no newse of any
importance to Write, only they are
fighting at charleston yet, I heard
correct newse from there up to
the 27 the yankees chared on Batry
Wagner, But they Ware Repulsed With
a heavy loss our Rigt lost fiv
kill and fourteen Wounded in the
last charge on Batry Wagner}

Gunes at Wilimington that will
carry a Eight hunard pound Ball
