My Dear Mother,
I seat my self this Eaving
to drop you A few lines to inform you
that I am Well at present. And I hope that
thies few lines may reach and fined you
Enjoying the Best of helth, Mother it Would
afford mee great plesur to go home and
See you But I cant tell When I Shall get
the chance of going home again, But I hope
that the time Will Sone come when We
Can all go home for good} Mother I hav
no newse of any importance to Write
to you, times is all quiet here now, the
Weather has Bin veary could here for the
last 15 days. And We hav had A
Small Snow, it has Bin on the Ground
for 10 days. the Weather is veary could here
But We hav A fine chance of Wood. And
Good quarters to stay in, I Wish that you
had the Some chance to get Wood that We
hav got. I am Sorry to inform you
that theare Was A Man Shot on the

of our Camp But I did not go to see him
shot. the most of our Boys Went to
see him Shot, Mother We hav Bin
payed off twenty two Dollars to day
But I Shall not Send non home this
time I Will Send you A nice Ring and
I Want you to keep it and Waret
untill I come home: I Will send
you A larger one the first chance I
get I hav Bin offored 10 Dollars for the
Ring that I had When I Was home.
And I Would not taket Bcase I promise.

ordered to North Carolina A
few days ago But the order Was
Countermaned By General Picket.
But I hope that We Shall go Back

as liv stay here as to Stay in
North Caralina. Without I could

Write me all the newse, And
Write me how you are getting along
