Dear Mother
I Received your veary
kind Letter of the 27 inst. That you sent me
by Serg Robertson. Aand was happy to
here that your helth was improving so fast
I hope that it may continue to improve.
Mother I was veary to here that you mad out
So bat a bout Something to Eat. But I hope that
the Lord Will provid for you, you must put
your trust in the Lord. Mother I want
you to Write me weather you are going to
let James Hardison tend the Land or not. I
think that it will Be the Best thing
that you can do, Mother I hav no newse of
any importance to Write you at present. It
has Ben reported here that }
Colnael Shaw was killed. doun near
Newburn, N. C. the 31st Regt had a Small
fight the outher day With the yankees on
the [??neena] River. they Sunk one
Boat. and tuck 100 prisen prisners. We
lost two men killed Mother I am
giting a plenty to Eat now. I never go to Eat
But what I think of you. We git a

Plenty of Meat and flour to Eat. We
are faring the Best not that we hav in
Sone time. Before. thies few lines
leaves me in good helth, at present
and I hop that they may fined you
