Wife I take my pen
hand to drope you a lines to
let you knoo that I landed
to Sailsbury Sunday
morning a bout half
past one Saft as
a Juge and went to meeting
in Saisbury and Say a
good maney popel thar and
the yankeys ar all gone
some five or six thay are the
cooks and tha have drod
our cloths tha boys drod
for me while I was at
home and tha was glad
see me come back and tha
ar five comney heare yet
we dont knoo when we
will leve heare mabey
in a feu days and mabey
