Dear Father and Mother
I take my pen in hand
to inform you that I
am well and hope
when these Few Lines
comes to Hand May Find
You enjoying the same
Blessing I received your
Kind letter 27th and was
Truly glad to hear From
You I havent anny thing
new to Write we have
bin under Marching orders
For Pretty Near 2 weeks
and they said we was a
gowing to go to N C
but I am a Fraid not
and some said we was
a gowing to East Tennessee
But I dont Know

Fredricks burg if we do I Know
we can Whip them For we
Have got Brest works to

Mother I Sent 41 Dollars
of uncle Johns money
to You By Joseph
Revis and I told him
to have it at our House
and he said he wood

Lives up to wards Yadkins ville
and I want Father to get
it if he haint and take
it to aunt Lucy
Capt Bohannon Wrote pap
a Letter and he said he
