Dear Father & mother I seat
My self this beautifull Sabath
to drop You a Few lines to
inform You that I am
well and hope when these
Few lines comes to hand
May Find You enjoying the
same Blessing I havent any
thing new to write that will
I terest You but I thought
I would Write a little to
Say Mother I dont want
You to send my shirts &
drawers not untill I write
to You to For I have got
me shirts and Drawers
more than I can toat
this summer I drawd some
a bout a week to two

them I will write to You
but dont send them
not untill I write capt
Bohannon has bin verry
sick since the Fight but
is getting better now
I wish You would Write
to me whether uncle
Philip has to come out
or not and how they
are a geting a long
and Whether You ever
hear From uncle Jack
or not and Write Whether
You Know Wher Mr La
is out or not and Write
Wher he is so I must
Bring my letter to a

Dear Father and Mother
I take my pen in hand to
inform You that I am well
and hope when these Few lines
come to Hand may Find
all well I am happy to tell
You that we are a Fareing
better then we was we draw
a ½ lb of meet to a man per
day and that is as much
as I want and we draw
1 ½ lb Flour to the man
and sugar enough to sweeten
or coffee and Rice we get
splendid Baccon I am as
harty as I ever was in
my Life and I reacon I
wey a bout a hundred and
[??] Fifty Five or 60
I must Bring my Letter
