Dear Father & mother I take
my pen in hand to inform
You that I am well and
hope when these few lines
comes to hand may find
You enjoying the same
Blessing I received Your
Kind letter Last night and
was Truly glad to hear from
You and was Glad to hear
that You was a gowing to
send me a box by daniel
Hicks You wrote that You
was a gowing to send me
all I wrote to send me
You wrote that You got that
little book I sent by Hicks

but You didant write whether
You got them caps or not
that I sent by Hicks I
Recived them stamps You
sent in A Letter and am
verry much oblige to You
For them but I never have
got that letter You sent
that dollar in I was sorry
to hear that old Mrs Hauser
was sick but I am inhopes
that she will get well soon
For she is one of the finest
Old ladies in the country
Tell John and sam it will
be a sight to see me eat
my rabit when I get it
and Fanny and bet ought
to see me eat my

chickins and cakes I will
Tell You the prices of things
Aples is worth 200 per doz
and chickens is worth from
250 to 300 a piece dried Aples
is selling at 125 cents per quart
and Molasses is worth 600 a qt
and butter is wort 400 a pound
and honey is 300 lb onions 200
per doz and corn meal is
50 cts per quart and we dont
draw but a quarter of a
pound of Pork to the man
per day but we draw lard
and we can make out by
bying every once and a while
I must Bring my letter to
a close by saying write soon
and often I remain Your
