Dear and much
respected son I seat my self to
drop you afew lines to let you no
that we are all well and truly hope
these few lines will find you enjoying
the same Blessing I must tell you
there feel the biges snow on the night
of the 21 that has ben since that big
snow that feel when we lived in
wautown it was half leg deep and
very cold I am sorry tha have quit
giving furlows but I hope tha will
give again before long your Father
says he did now some of them men
that run away I am like you I hope
tha will get them all the home guards
only has to go out every now and then
not more than a night at atime
I am glad you are still drawing as much
to eat as you are I am glad you are

Detaild quarter master Clerk I want
you to have it just as easy as you can
have it for I now it would be so much
better far you William I got three
rows of pins in your last letter and I
am very much oblige to you for them
I am sorry you had to pay so much for
them you wanted to now how much oats
we was going to sow we will sow about 9
eacres and we will plant between 12
and 15 eacres of corn this cold bad
spell of wether will put people back
some about there work the is nothing

got a letter from your unkel Jacob this
tha rote about the same that tha rote
to mr Nison tha sed tha was coming
back so as this war ended you must rite
soon and often and we will do the same
we got two letters from you last weak and
