Biography: 

Daniel Dendy (b. ca. 1836) was a miller from Newberry District. In 1850, he was living with the Wade family in Laurens District, but in 1860, he was living alone in Newberry. He served as a sergeant in the Holcomb Legion and later in the 7th SC Cav.  He was captured near Malvern Hill, VA on June 13, 1864 and died in hospital at Baltimore in October.
