Dear father i seat myself this morning
To Drop you a few lines to let you
no how i am i am well except a bad
cold and Hoping When thes few lines
com to hand they fiend you all well
i hant got much to rite i Dont her
much war news now i thinck they
are lying Still on Both sides now
i her they will Do no more for sixty
Days they say ther will Be Peace Before
long but i Dont no it looks like it
an last much longer we are in six
miles Frederricks Burg and a bout sixty
or 70 from Richmond we are lying
about Doing nothing at all we
Drill too or three times a weeak
ther is a heep of sickness in camp
JW Milford an D Cleland
is gon to the Horsepitle i herd
from them yesterday Cleland was
Beter milford was no better he has
Diarear our Doct is no count they
Dont tent to th sick lik they ot
the pay is all they count the they
cant git medisons this is a pore
part of the her world the is nothing

her that Thomas was sick he is long

are about 75 miles apart or more

we go to mill and By meal at
one Dollar per Bushel som Buys sheep
at four Dollars a peace and Beefs that
a man can sholder for eight Dollars
Chickens from 85 to $1 a peace eggs 40 cts
per Dozen Butter 75 cts per Pound we Draw
flower Bacon Peas Sugar nothing for coffee

it has Been raining for a Day or too
it has Been verry mudy But has
Clerd of now i hant saw a stalk
of corn senc i hav Been in verginnia
nor much Wheat and what is is
very sory it Dont look like ther

va i her they are 7000 sick at
richmond they are from 50 to 100 Dy
ing every Day ther i will haf to

want of news to rite so nothing
