camp near new market Tennes
February the 21 1864
Dear Father I take this oppertunity
to drop you a few lines to let you know
how We ar geting along We ar both Well at
this time We landed in camp on the
18th I found the boys all Well and do
ing Well they ar in Winter quarters they
ar all looking Well We ar geting plenty
to eat now the boys looks fat and Sassy
the regtment is larger than it has
bin for the la[s]t year We hav 20 men
in our company for deuty every day
the men is doing better than I expect
ed to find them they have good Shoos
and the most of them hav tolerble good
cloths their is som few of them that
is nearly naked but not meney of
them in that fix the men is in good
Spirits and ar ready for a fight eney
time We ar expecting to move every
minute I do not think that We will
Stay hear long their is Som talk of
us going back to Wards bristole but
I hope that they Wil Stay hear til
coald Weather is over We hav had
som of the coaldest that I ever Saw
I thought I wold freez to death

other recruit I think that I Wil be home
in a month or so Andrew is very Well

in this country is all union men.
