Dear father I take this oppertunety of ansuring
your kind letter that I received this Morning
Dated the 6 of March I was glad to hear from
you this leavs me well & harty and I hope theas
lines may find you in the engoyement of the
Same I am tolerable well satisfied better
then I Exspected to be We marcht last
Monday in 4 or 6 Miles of Bulls gap to meat
the yanks but when we got down there
they turned back it is said they ar
back at Moristown they onley made a cavilry
Rade & then went back I cant tell whether
they will attack us ar not we have a Strong
forse Down near the gap Some thinks we
will go back to greenville in a few Days
You may Tell Danil we ar not living as
well as we was when we at greenville.
for we cant get chickens & gees as we did
up thare for this part is entirely eat out
Me & T C Milford & P Huckaby went out
yesterdy to get Dinner we went about 5
Miles before we got it & it wasent mutch
when we got it we got bread & fryed beef
the tufist you ever Saw they charged
us $2.00 a peace but they coud not change

Request of T C Milford he wishes you or
Danel to sea T B Milford & tell him that
TC want him to Sea to the paying
of the his tacks he says that the
money his sisters has got some of his Money
he can get it from them & it will abblige
him very mutch I will close as I have
