Dear Rachel as it is sunday and
I am at leasure I seat myself for
the pleasure of communicating to
you a few lines which I hope may
reach you all well as for myself
I am in tolerable helth tho not
well I have a bad cough and light
feevers at knight But I am still
dooing duty I hope it may ware off
in a few days Dear Rachel I have
no news to right that would inter=
=est you but mearly right for ammu=
=sement Evrything is quiet heare yet
and I see nothing that indicates a
fight more than usial altho wee cant
tell how soon such a thing may
Occur Dear Rachel I am verry sorry
to hear that G. H. Livingston
has bin so unfortunate as to loos all of
his children which I supose was
caused by scarlot feevar which you
no is a verry dangerous disease

and I hope you will be perticularly
cearfull with yourself and sisey and
not visit Enney plaise wheare you the
least suspect there is eney Scarlot feevar
for feare sisey might take it again
therefore I dont thing you can be
too cearfull and too perticular concearning
this matter I hope you will keep due

like to no if theire has bin Enney preperatin
made for sowing you wheat yet or not
it is time that wheat was in the ground
I also would like to no if Sampson
king has gon in servis yet or not I und
ersta[nd] that the railbridg company has
organised but have not understood
whether king has gon with them or not
if he has I would like to heare what has
becom of my horse I must come to a clos
hoping to heare from you soon give
