Dear Rachel this morning at sunrise the
yankes comenced the attact on Morres Island
and is still going on yet with heavy firing
tha have bin at it for two hours I have not
understood what damage have bin done yet
the attact is made by the Iron clads and
morter boates wee dont no how soon tha
may comence on this Island I tell you
wee have sturing times heare now
youre with much Respect
