November the 4th 1863 Mary J. Lister my
dear Companion through the mercy of a
kind god I am permited to rite you a
few more lines witch leave me well
Hopen thay may Come safe to your hand
And find you all well and doing well
This makes the forth leter I hav rote to
you and I havent received na[?]er one f
From you we bin left home a month
To day and I think it hard that I Cant
Hear from home once a month you pertend
To be verry mutch a posed to my leaving
Home but it dosent prove it Jef Bruce
And Eadward dill and [james?] Crain Can
All get leters and every body but me
And I dont think I will rite our nother
one untill I get one from you I cant
