I take the pleasure this morning of
writing you a few lines to let you know
that I have not forgoten you but I think
that you hav forgoten me I have nothing
of much intrest to writ but as Mr Read is
a going back I will send you a few lines
ther will be a draft here in Greenvill next
week will I have not saw youre shug
since I saw you will I am glad the ar a
going to draft thes men back here becaus
the have as much right to go a eny of
you boys you know the ar nothing but
cowards will you must be a brave fellow
and stand up to youre post will I have had
very bad luck my sweet hart come home ded
but I have got another one but I never shal
see no body th I love half as good as I did him
that is ded will you must rit to me as soon
as this comes to hand and tell John and
Davy Balley to writ to me give my love
