Biography:
William Perry Zacharia Franklin Neves (b. ca. 1835) was from the Mush Creek neighborhood of Greenville District, South Carolina. His parents were Alsey Albert (b. ca. 1815) and Ann Pool (b. ca. 1810). Two of his brothers served with him in the Confederacy: John Pool (b. ca. 1838) and George Washington (b. ca. 1841), all in Co. A (later Co. H), 3rd Battalion, Palmetto Light Artillery. All three survived the war. William was elected second lieutenant in July 1863.
