Biography:
Ann Pool Neves (b. ca. 1810) was a farmer's wife from Greenville District, South Carolina. Her husband was Alsey Albert Neves (b. ca. 1815). Three of their sons served in the Confederate Army: William P. Z. F. Neves (b. ca. 1835), John Pool Neves (b. ca. 1838), and George Washington Neves (b. ca. 1841), who all belonged to Co. A. (later Co. H), 3rd Battalion, Palmetto Light Artillery. Ann and her husband wrote all of their sons faithfully throughout the Civil War. All three sons survived.
