Biography:
Alsey Albert Neves (b. ca. 1815) was a farmer from Greenville District, South Carolina. His wife was Ann Pool Neves (b. ca. 1810). Three of their sons served in the Confederate Army: William P. Z. F. Neves (b. ca. 1835), John Pool Neves (b. ca. 1838), and George Washington Neves (b. ca. 1841), who all belonged to Co. A. (later Co. H), 3rd Battalion, Palmetto Light Artillery. Alsey and his wife wrote all of their sons faithfully throughout the Civil War. All three sons survived.
