Dear Will
I have receve your letter bearing
date Dec the 7 which found me well I was gla to
hear from you that you was well &c I have nothing of
intrust to write to you all is quiet at this time and
place &c the health of the Co is god altho we lost
a membe of our co on the 6 inst Mr J W Banes
he died quite Sudden Suppose to be appople
xy his remains was sent home escorted by
his Brother J H Banes &c Capt Martial is with us at
this time he has braught down our Clothing and
I Suppose our money which will be a welcome
visiter money being quite Scarce &c
will I have receve but one letter from you Since
my return to camp &c Will you Speeke of 2nd
Thursday in Febuary nex a being the day
sat a part to Seal your destiny for weal
or wo Should this be the Case I hope you will make
a wise choice be you assure Will that I would
like to participate with you on such an occasion
I would like to be with you when ever you may
join your Lady love in Matrimonial bonds may
the day hasten when this war will Close

Telegraph dispatch has bin receve at this place
that the ball was open at Charleston this Morning
Should it be the Case I hope you will repulse
the enemy put them to flight I would like to be
