Dear William I take the pres
time to drop yoe a line to
let yoe know that we are
all about as comen thoe i have
bin very un well for to weaks
or more so i have not bin
abel to do any thing a hardly
i have bin to tenasee after
william he was sick in the
hors pitel he had the measels
i got him home last Saturd
ay he is on the mend sloly
he has bin Sick ever since
last day of Desember he went
to the hors pitel with the mesels
william i know a Camp life
is not desirabel from what
i have seend i know and the
hors pitel i[n] particlar i want
yoe all to get home to yore
friends and homes and lern
war no more william i see

some say there will be pese in the
spring i dont now how it will bee i wold
like to know that it will be sow now
there is one Chance for it and that is
for the north west States to leve the
new england states and come south or we
are whiped now for there is so many men
gown what [is] here Cant make a saport for the
war and the wimen and Children
william there has bin one of the
bigest snowes here yew ever saw
was just knee deep every where
and some p[l]ases over that it fell the
fifth of febuary there has bin rite
smart of snow this winter her
i was gown 16 days after will
iam i expect to go to green vill
in too weaks from know so i
have not mutch to rite at presan
