Dear Father I have Conclued
to write More as you do not get
news I Sent you A paper by Mr..
Hughs in it was the batle of Shilo
we have got A Correct Report
the Report Stats the Loss of the
enemy is twenty thousand kill Seven
thousand wonded five thousand Drowned
Eighth thousand taken Prisners
the paper I Sent you Reports the Loss
on our Side it is Rumered in our
Camp
it is Reported in our Camp
that is Telagraph to Charleston this
Eeavning that General Beauregard
has had Another fight with the
enemy & whiped them out Again
killing two thousand of the enemy
Father I drawed Money to
Day I dont think that I can
Send you any this time for our
Regt it is thought will go to
Mississipi in A few Days & if
we do I will nead My Money
but if we do not go I Can Send
you twenty five or thirty Dollars

you to Save every one of My Leters
for if I ever Live to get threw the
war I want all My old Leters
I bleive I have writen all the news
except the batle of Fort Bulaskey
the yankes has taken Another Fort
Fort Bulaskey; Fort Bulaskey is at
the Mouth of Savana & it is thought
that the yankes will get Savanna City
I Supose their is no fortication
fortiforcations to hinder them from
geting to Savanna
I will bring My Leter to A
Close by giving you My best
