Mr Martin
sir I will write you
afew Lines informing you
of the Death of your son
though I soppose you have
heard it before now he Died
at the Cimborazo Hospitle he
Died the 5th of August he
Died of what the Dr Call the
Camp fevor he was Sick a
week Before he was sent
to the Hospitle him & Charly
was sent off together
But I Do not know Whether
they Stayed together or not
I have not heard from
Charley since he Left they
Both wanted me to go &
wait on them But the
officer wold not Let me go

his Money he only had
seven Dollars & a Due Bill
on Lewis Reeder for five
Dollars the Money I wold
send to you But it is
Va Money & it wold not
bee goo there I have tried
get Money that is good ther
But I Cannot get any as there
is But Litle Money in Camp
we will Draw soon & I will
get it & the other five Dollars
& send it the first Chance
I want you to write to mee
& Let mee know whether you
want me to send it Mail
if I have no Chance to sen
it Hand & what you want
Done about what the Cofedracy
owes him
