Mr James H. Miller Sr
Deare Father I now take the
present oppertunity of riting to yo a few lines
agane to inform yo that I am well at the present
time and hoping that they may find yo and
all of the famley inJoying the Same good blessing
I wold be very glad here from Home I have not
had a letter frome Sence I left from no one
onely the one yo rote in mobile a few Days after
I left I said that I was well but I am not I have
had the dyarear for a bout 4 days pretty bad but
I am a giting better I rote Home a few days ago to
uncle Martial to have me six yds of Brown geans
maid and I want yo to See him and no if he
received the letter and get it as Soon as he
Can make it and tell Mary to make them
and get Jack Powell to Send them to me but
Dont Send them untill yo get a letter from
me agane So as to no where I am our
Company has charg of a Bridg about
two Miles from the citty of Columbus
and act as pickets the Boys all are well
Rip is as harty as he ever was in this life

we all have a very good time here at this
place so for we had a little fight at blo[?]
land Some time ago but no body was kill
on our Side I am geting very tired of the
worss and I have not the least idia of it S[t]oping
before next Summer and it Stands evry
Soldier in hand this winter to Show
that he is a Soldier we are a taking
up ever man that we can get our up or
under the age of 35 and ove 18 I have
nothing of interest to right yo at all at
the present I have written [f????] one to 2 [1]
letters every week and I cant get one
from home nor no one what is bru[ce?]
a doing tell mary if She gets the
pants Cloth to Cut them by a blue
pair I left home I have nothing
more to right at the Present
I expect we will Remain at Columbus
for a while yet give my respects
to all
