morning am blest and spard to right
you a few lines in ancer to your
letter of the 14 of this inst I can
say to you that I am in the best
of helth and has enjoyed very
good helth since I left home and
I truly hope that this will reach
and finde you all enjoying the
same blessing the boys is all well
at this time the helth of our company
is very good at this time J E & RR [1]
Bush is well and harty G [S?] is a gitting
well just as fast a he can he is a
gitting pirty sasy and is able for
Deawty a gain tell the girls that
he is all right a gain and sends his
love and respects to them E Miller
is well and harty and sends his
respects allso to them Sam Hendrix
is not very well thoug he is up

when I get one from any of you I
have not heard from Margaret and
nancy in some time they were well
I got a letter from [????] Ben a few
weeks a go he was well thoug I have
not heard from him since the battle

made a little march since I rote to you
the day that Atwell left here wee
got orders to take our Coats and blankets
to go to a gap a bout 10 or 12 miles from
here wee marched up there and stade
to days and come back to our campts
and is at the same camps yeat wee
are a gitting a long tolerbal well yeat
some of the boys complains a bought
not having a nuf to eat but I
have never suferd for something to
eat yeat I give 50 cents for a
canteen of milk and walk 2
miles after it and is a doing well
at that there is a grate excitement
a bout the vicksburg fight at this
time but I dont think that wee
will have any fight here soon
wee have got a very good meeting
a going on here close to us and
I have seen some of the best meet
ings here that I have ever seen
Give [my?] best respects to all of
the family and to all enquiering
frinds may wee all live to see the
time come when wee can be together
and have no need of righting may heaven
protect and preserve us all yours truly
and efectionately as none
