Dear Wife I this evening embrace
the oppertunity of riteing you a
few lines which will inform
you that I am Well as comon and
I truly hope thes few lines will
finde you and all of the family
well and a gitting a long well I have
nothing that is important to rite to
you for I have ritting severl letters
to you latle and I have not got
a letter from you in a long time
I shall have to quarl a little
if you dont rite oftiner than
you do George said that I
had to rite a few lines so that he
would have a good excuse to go and
see you he ses that he is going home
to git married and he has envited
me over as it is rather in convini
ant for me to go over you will
have to go in my place and then you
must rite me all a bought it you must
send me a big sausage by some of the
boys I am a going to try to come home my
self [befo?] long for I want to see you
