when I got to the regt it was in a [1]
line of battle a mil from town
and our compiny was three miles of on
picket so I carrid it back to Dalton and
left it at a privat house and I never opend
it I would of opended it and takein some
of the things out but ever one of them
had as much as they could cary wee have
[bin?] a gitting a plenty to eat ever since
[????] bin back here

go to rite to me and direct your
letter to the Army of Tenn and
I will be apt to git it I have nt
got any more paper send pa and

Will keeps up but he is not well
I cary his close for him and hilp him
