Dear father and Mother
this will inform you that
I am up and a bought at this
time I have bin puny for some
time but I ceepe with the
compiny yeat I have been a mar
ching nearly ever day and night
since Thomas come back and I git
a long very well if it was not for
my bowels they bother me a grate
deal but I am in hops that I will
git well some time I have seen a
heepe since I have bin here I was
not in the fight that wee had

gan to carry I have an ax to carry
so when they started in to the
fight they told wee to stay that did
not have a gun I have bin withe
the compiny the most of the time
I have seen severl men kild since
this fight commencts

whitehurst no Montier yet but
