Biography: 

Parthenia Matthews (1805-1877) was the wife of Williams Matthews. Her husband died before 1850, leaving her a widow raising several children on a farm in Cherokee County, Alabama. Several of her sons joined and served in the Confederacy. After the Civil War, she relocated to Florida, where she died and was buried.
