Tupelo . Miss. June 29 1862
Pa as I have not wrote to you Since I left will write
you afew lins to let you know how we
are geting along we are all mending I
have had that Pain in my face and head
that I have evre year I have taken agratel
of Quinine I mised the Pain to day So I think
I will now get well now
We are in the first brigade .Ala. vol under
Jenrel. Gardner. Wethers division and the
whole armey is under Jenrel Brag at
this time
Cotton is rising I supose it is worth 16 cents
I expect you will want to Sel my bale
but dont you doit for Money is not worth
any thing now for all the Banks will brake
when the war is over So keep the cotton till
war is over and it will bring the Gold and
Silver
I am verry Sorry to hear that there is Such
adrouth but I hope it will rain befor the
corn will rouin for if this crop fails we
will get whiped to my notion of things
