Lynchburg Langhorne Hospital Jan 25th 1863 Dear Judia through the blessings of god
I once more am spared and blest with this goldin privaledg of writing to you. But I have not got
any thing of grate importance to write you more than I am still on the land of the living and am
doing tolrably well I recon. I have ben on foot ever sense I have ben heare. I have got a good enough
apatite and get plenty to eate I am tolrably well sadisfied heare as to my treatment much better
than I was when I was in Richmond Hospital. if they would just give me a furlough to com home
I would like them a heap better. Judia I want to heare from you bad enought for I have not heard from
you sence I got yours of the 21st of Dec. for feare that those that I have write have not com to hand. I will tell
you when I got heare got heare last sunday knight. all tho I want to heare from you so bad I am afraid all most to heare
for fear that I will heare something bad. I heard that the smallpox was all around you. and I
want to know who has got them. I want you to write to me how you like your horse swap and
how she preformes. Judia I recon you think my letters short which they are but I write eveything
that I think would interest you. for there is not any thing heare that you know of to write to you
about. it is not like you for you have a heap of things there that you can tell me about
I want you to tell me how John H. & Mary T. is geting along I would like to se them. I want
Mary T. can Taulk and walk cant she. I want to know how charly comes on and how you

like your new woman and how she is geting along with her for me, and [??] [??] for
her and how many childrin she has, and all about every thing that is worth writing about
I expect you have writen to me about all of those thing but I have not got your letters as yet and
it is doutful whearther I ever will. Judia I expect to go to the Roman Catholick Church to day I
hav a Curiosity to se and heare them. I have nothing to do heare but write and read. tell Joel
that I would like to hear from him and all the rest of my neighbours Tell uncle Ed that I
would like to have a letter from him & I want to heare from Ma. and all of them I would be glad to
get a letter from all of them and mabe by that I could heare from you once and a while I will
quit teling you what to write to me about least I worry you. I want you to give my best [?]
respects to all of my enqurring freind an receive a double posion to your self. so I
will Close for this time hoping I will heare from you soon. my best wishes attend you
and the Children. I desire and intrist in your prayers and in all praying People.
