My Dear Brother
As mr Colbin is
agoing back tomorrow I thought that I
would drop you afew lines to let you know
how we are getting along we are all well
except colds I hope [??????] may find you
enjoying good health [smudge] John I recond
you have heard that we have moved to
possum hollow you must come
home and come to see me and I will
kill a chicken and churn come this Christ
mas and we will have a Turkey for
dinner Mr L keeps killing some
yet he is gone now some where I don
no where after Turkey he is going to
see Tom next week John you must
write me along letter and tell me
all the news. tell Jeff Mc I will
not write to him until he writes to

me for I have written last have
you all got any christmas down your
way there is none about here I wish
that you could come home and we
would start up christmas I will
have a quilting when you get home and
ask your gal if you will tell me
who it is [????] Billy Allison
& say I think he might write to
me one time give my love to Billy
