Peters burg va June 28 1862
Mr Isaac Lefeever got me
Amon Cline to Rite a few lines
to his Dear and beloved wife
that he was well yesturday morning
hopeing when these few lines
comes to hand tha may find
wife and family all well
Isaac Lefeever and all the
Regt that was abel to go started
yesturday morning over on Chick
ahomany River tha fought there
thursday and friday and I suppose
tha are fiteing there to day we
have heard the cannons this
morning on thursday our men
kild eleven hundred yankies
and our loss did not exced half
half that number in kild
and wounded our men backed
the yankies twelve miles turn over

and taken a large quantity of
artiliary about fridays fite
but I cant state to you how
many were kild on either side
only I heard this [morning?] that [1]
our men had backed the yankies
6 miles and our men is Reinforceing
day and knight I cant say whether
our Regt will git in the fite
or not there is so many Regt
in before them it is supposed
by the most of the people that
the ware will not last very
long tha think it will be
Decided one way or the other
Isaac Lefeever wants his dear
wife to Rite as soon as this comes
to hand nothing more only Remain
you friend ontill Death
