Isaac Lefevers Papers

Isaac Lefevers (1832-1864) and his wife, Catherine (b. ca. 1835), owned a farm in the Jacob’s Fork section of Catawba County, North Carolina, where they resided with their two small children Sarah and Sidney. In addition to farming, Lefevers operated a successful pottery shop and is well known today for the fine stoneware he produced. Lefevers (also spelled Lafevers) served as a sergeant in Co. K, 46th North Carolina Infantry. He enlisted on March 15, 1862, was wounded on June 15, 1864, and died at Camp Winder hospital in Richmond on July 14, 1864.
