Dear and Ever loving wife I seat my self
one time a gain to rite you a few lines
to lette you now that I am still In good health
and I trust to the good lord that when this
letter reaches yoru hands it may find
you and the dear little childrean all in
good health and doing we as could Be e[p??] [1]
for your chance Dear wife I am happy
to say to you that I recived a letter from
this morning I can not tel you how glad
I was to hear from you one time more as
it had Bin a long time since I had heard
from you and Especially was I glad to
hear that you was al well for I can tel you
that that is the Beast news that I can hear
from you my Dear wife I am also glad to hear
that you had Receved as meny letters
from me as what you did you Rote

Dear wife I had Rote to you to Send me
Something to Eat with Bost But I dont now
whether you got the letters or not there is some
of the company that has got things to Eat from
home and I tel you it loocks hard for me to Eat
my Ruff corn Bread and a little molasses
and them a Eaten their good things But I
am in hopes that I wil get something frome
home one time two and then I wil fix them
like they do me If you can I want you to do
the Best you can to get me something good to eat
I want you to send some flower over to [S???]

you to Bake over the fire I want ant caty

Dear wife I had Rote to you to send
al the things In a Trunk that you fix to
send to me I think if you come and
Henry comes a long you can fil one trunk
and also Bring a Box that one man can
handle as the conscripts has Broat some
Boxes threw If you can have the Room to

Be very glad I have not Eat two

South Carolina I should also like
to have some Eggs and Butter I want
Betsey Brendel to send me some Butter

Dear wife I should like to have a gallon
or sow of Brandy or whiskey If it can be had
you may think it wil Be awful high and it
is But the water is very Bad hear and if you
can Bring me a gallon or sow I wil pay you the
money Back that it costes and more two I can
Take a quart and sel the rest for more then
it wil cost with you But If you cant
get it I most try and do as I have Bin
