Belfast Feb 12. 1865.
Dear Brother
I now take my pen
in hand to write you a few lines
in answer to your kind letter.
I havent any news to write
so you may expect a veary dul
letter. but I will try to write something,
last weeak Wednesday I was on Corporal of the
Guard. Thursday I went acrost the
Bay in a boat to Battery A. the boys
are having a sick time of it at battery A.
thay have ten sick with the
Measles. W. Judkins and J. Rowe of
the Norway boys, thay are getting
better, the othe Norway boys are all well.
Charles Millett is all right and so are
we all,

our Second Le ient Name is
Charles W. Keyes. he did belong
to Co. E. the old 32nd Me. Vols. I know
him well, and he is a good man.
he was first Le ient in the 32nd Me.
he was wounded the 12 of May at
Spotsylvania [1] in the foot. and
has lost his foot. I had quite a
talk with him. he told me if he
had been here in time, that
I should have had a Sergents
birth. I went from Battery A
up to the City, and found out
whare Uncle Phipps lives he
lives one mile from the City.
I shall get a pass some day and go to
see him. yesterday we washed every thing
up clean. C. Coles went home last weeak.
W. Foster and F. Bennett and my self are well and growing
fat. we had a nice rain this weeak.
I like better then I expected. be sure and write
to me every weeak for when you come to
write to our girl, you will want to write well,
