he is a good deal like Lieut Colby.
I stop in his quaters the most
of the time and sleep with him nights
on a good spring bed. I have four
small rooms to sweep every morning
& two beds to make & the fire to build
[page 2]
I have the wood to cut & the fire
to keep burning & the water to bring.
and bring Lieut food down to him
from the cook house & to run on

and I can do it all in an hour
so you see I dont have much to do.

have such a good time. but we
dont expect to,
