Biography: 

Obed R. Davis was from Charlestown, Suffolk County Massachusetts, where he was employed as a sailmaker. He served first in Co. K, 5th Massachusetts Infantry, a three-month regiment. Davis enlisted in Co. B, 36th Massachusetts Infantry on July 23, 1862, was made a corporal, and was killed in action at the Battle of Spotsylvania on May 12, 1864.
