as I wrote mama in The
last letter That I should write you
in The next and as I have a picture
sheet I shall send That to you
I should be most happy I take you
on my knee and Tell you about the
little Black Boys and This way and
also to hear my little Boy tell me
about his drum and Gun and
to see you once and have one
kiss from you. but as I am many

miles from you you must mind
mother and do all that she asks you
to do while I am from you so that
when I do come home I can Kiss
you and when I ask you if you
have been a good Boy to mind
mother while I have been away
from you you can look at me
and say I was a good Boy and
did mind mother and if you
can papa will Kiss you
and now with a Kiss from
papa and you will Kiss mama
from me for she is a good mama
I will bid you good day

the reason I did not send with
mamas was becaus [heavy?] was
almost to heavy and so I shall
send one in your name

Dear Lu as I have a half
a sheet to spare I will write [&?]
shall send you Ten Dollars in
this letter and Ten Dollars in
the next one that I send you
can keep it untill and than
when I come home we can live
as we see fit if there is more than
you want for your use and
if I had the Bills I should send
you Two Dollars more but in
two months more we shall be
payed for Two months more
but I suppose got the letter
That I sent with This you
will know The partickulars
of our pay your loving
