Dear Brother and Sister
your letter came to hand
nite before last my health
is good it is raining to day
we ar A gooing to move to
morrow if it dose not rain
you sed in your letter that
you know that I am A
live up to that time now
you out not feel so
about me as for me I
do not think of bein shot
my self now I tell you when think of
me think how I loock round A
camp fire cracking jocks with my
mess mats and havin A good
time my regtment is in the
third brigade now and Curn
Gorden [1] is in curmand and

left tenent curnel anddrus [2]
is in curmand of the regtment
sum think curnel gorden is
A goin to be purmoted to
brigerder genrel but we all
hop not for ther is not
another man in the wrold
that I wold exchang hem for
if he is permoted left tenent
andrus will be our curnel
major dwight will ne
left tenent curnel and capt
savage will be major so we
lose our capt in the bargen

to rite so good by for this
