Dear Wife i have Recieved three Letters Since
i wrote my Last and now i will annser them
i have not had time til now i have got
over the Jaundice all Right a good manny had it
it Looks now as if the war would Last a
Long time well i gess we Can Stand it
as Long as the Rebels i See By the Papers that
Newburyport will Raise two more Co
i hope So and i Should Like to Se a few
Radicals out here the old Bay State has
Let out Some of her Best Blood Look and Se
how those Mass Regts fought at Richmond
not one Showed the white feather See how
the gallant Col Hinks fought his Reg
and then fell wounded and [every?] man and
Gave Cass Pierce How and all those Brave
Soldiers who have gave up ther Lives and
they must Be Revenged ten to one and
now our own gallant Burnsides has gone
with a Portion of his army to Join McClennen
and i wish that we was with him he can
give a good acount of himself thats So i
am getting this Paper all daubed up So you

that Capt Hobbs Creassey and murey
have Resigned and are Comeing home So we
Shall have new officers well i dont feell
Bad about it and i gess that there aint
many that does i have given Creassey fifteen
dollers for you i Believe he Starts tomorrow
and i Send a Pitcture By him it aint a
good one i [???] him i did not think of getting
one taken i went in to Saloon and Sat
down in the Chair with a Cigar in my
mouth and it was taken Before i knew
it and So i thought i would Send it
home i Suppose that you will Like it
But it Looks as i Look now i am Raising
Burnside whiskers you will notice you
must get yours taken and Send it out
in a Letter with young Burney i may get
one more taken But Cant tell i have
had a Letter from Mrs Drake Brought By
Leut Story of co C i did not know that
Leut Johnson had Left for the Seat of war
i Shall Be very happy to have Letters from
all i got all the Stamps you Sent yes
yes i think that they mised it in not
Enlisting men Right along for they might
have had a hundred and fifty thousand
now Come up Just in time well So
much for Politicans no i have not wrote

Col Coffin i give it up if you Send a Box
Put what you have a mind in it i gess that
Capt dade would give Something to Send
in it Elbridge Pike has got the Lung fever
at home do you Se tom marshall now i
Suppose that the children are Pleased
with the Baby oh how i Should Like
to Se him But it will Be many a Long
day Before that time i have made up my
mind that we Shall have to Stay three years
well So Be it it dont make any difference
wether Ned gurney Comes Back or not
he dont amount to any thing this Red
ink is Poor Stuff i Shant write another
Letter with it yes we have got a good
generall and hope that he will Be Back
again with the Command of this
department is now on gen Foster he
is a fine officr and Brave as Steel i
Saw him Rideing out with his daughter
and Staff his family are here well i
Cant tell how this negro question will
B Settled i think that it would B
a good Plan to Lay in waste all
the Southern States make them
as they wore once Before and [?]
well i dont know of any more
to write about to day So i will
