My Dear Wife i have had two
Letters from you this week one was
dated the third of August and the
other i got Last night with the
Pitcture in it and i am So glad
to get it the Baby is a darling
dont he Look Cunning i Should
Like to Jam him all up and
you Look firstrate i think that
the Baby Looks Like nelley dont
you But you didnot Say wether you
had got mine or not if you aint
i think it is Pretty weell to there
has Been a great Change in the
army and i hope that things
will Come out all Right our own
generall will take an active
Part in the takeing of Richmond
there is no Such thing as the

Burnside Expedition now it
has Pased into history and i for
one am Proud that i Belong to it
Birneys divvission is now the
9th Army Corpes i wish that
we where with Birney general
Foster is in Command have now
i got four Papers from you this week
they have done well in N P and
So Capt Bartlet is a going with
another Company well i am glad
of it there is Some men from NP
Comeing out to Join this Co i hope
so for we want men Badly i heard
that Ned Gurney was on his way
out here do you know well i think
that music is a good thing to take Pitcture
