Dear Wife i Recieved a Letter from
you Last night also one from Aunt
Nelson and i was glad to here
from here this one was dated the
Sept 7th i also got three Papers
this mail But i have not got the
Six Papers yet well i dont know
what we are a Comeing to the
way things ar going on now
i expeht the rebels will Be in
New york By the time you
get this So Halleck [1] is Secter
ay of war well he is a good
general i am glad that old
Stanton is out for he

and Some others have Played
the old Boy with the Country
By there one Sidided vews
i am glad that Little Mac [2]
is in Command he would
have had Richmond Before
now if they had given the
men that So about the Shirts
you nead not get them i will
get them out here i Shant
have much monny to Send
this time i hope that they
will give us that Bounty
most all the other towns
have i Should Like to See
Little Birny and hug him
up and the Rest of the
Children yes there is a good
deal done for the Sick

that about all the wine and
Brandy they Send the officers
drink up i dont Say they all
do it But a good many do
what is Bill Creassey doing now
and Sally Murrey thats

here the old eight dont have
very good Luck about geting
