Dear Wife i Recieved a Letter from 
you Last night also one from Aunt 
Nelson and i was glad to here 
from here  this one was dated the 
Sept 7th  i also got three Papers 
this mail But i have not got the 
Six Papers yet  well i dont know 
what we are a Comeing to  the 
way things ar going on now 
i expeht the rebels will Be in 
New york By the time you 
get this  So Halleck [1] is Secter
ay of war well  he is a good 
general  i am glad that old 
Stanton is out for he

have had Richmond Before
