dear wife
another Mail Boat got
Last night and i got another Letter
from you it was dated oct 19th
So this will Be two Letters that
i have written this week to you the
Box has not got here yet So Nelly
dont Like to have me Lay on
the ground well you Can tell
here that i have got a good Bed
now to Sleep in and that i Sleep
in a house and i Should Like to
Se here and Play with here and
Lissy i dont know hardly what
to write about to day there was
a good Crop of apples and Potatoes
this year at home So the Paper Say
and we have a Plenty of them
[???] Eat now There is a

Plenty of Sweet Potatoes out here
But i dont Like them very well
well gen Foster is a going
to make the citisens take
the oath to Support the goverment
or Leav the Place for this Place
is full of Rebels and there is
a good many union men to
But i think the Best way to
Serve them would Be to Shoot
them then they would not Join
the Rebel army i and you are
having good wether at home we
are having Splendid wether now
Just Cool enough to make
it Comfortable the yellow
fever has Been Rageing down
to wilmington But they aint
nothing there But Rebels But
want it a Send that
the yellow fever didnot next
visit New orleans this

Summer we expect troops
here every day from the north
i wish that i Could vote
this fall i would vote the
Peoples ticket for gen devens
i have Changed in Politics
Since i have Been in the
army i think that Mr Tearn
was used Rather mean well
i must Close you must
exuse me for this Short
Letter i Should Like to
See you all kiss the Children
for me give my Love to all
