Dear wife
it was with Pleasure that i Received
two Letters from you and one from
Aunt Nelson yesterday the 25th i
also got two By the way of New
bern the other day i am So glad
that you got mine i thought you
would not get them there has
Been no movement much yet
But i think there will Before Long
gen Steveanson has Come out all
Right as all good and Brave
men do gen Burnside and Foster
Both know what he is and
all the Rest of the North
Carolina Troops we have had
a Large Reveiw this forenoon
By gen Hunter oh i wish
that you Could See a Sight

it once we have got three or
four Bands in our division
there was about twenty Regts
Part in Review to day gen Hunter
is a good Looking officer But he
Cant Come up to Birnney in
my eyes that So the wether is
hot now and a heavey dew falls
nights So Birnney Call his
dad dose he well Let Call
i Should Like to See the darling
i am Sorry that we didnot
Call him Ambrose Burnside
instead of Everett Ambrose
is not Common But Everett
is it to Late to alter it if
not you Can do it one of
the Letter was mailed the 19th
the other the 16th and Aunt
Nelson the 16th i have not
got any Paper Lately E.L.D.
has the Herald every mail
yes gen Nagle has gone

Troops only they were Sorry
to have him go the officers
waited upon him with a Band

Papers Some of them are a

ought to Be Burnt up it is
to Bad about John Merrills wife
But i thought as much Some
time a go i am Sorry for John
he did think a great deal of
her and he is Sick to
he ought to Save three Bullets
for them and kil all three
