of Murfreesboro March the 16th 1863
Mutch respected Brother I take my penn
in hand to in form you of my health I am
Well at this time and hope when theas feiw
Lines comes to hand that they may [find?]
you all Well When this comes to hand I received
your kind Letter in dew time and Was Glad
to hear that you all Was Well the letter Whitch
I got had to postage stamps in it you stated in
your letter that you had sent me a letter With
a Leven stamps in it I hant got it yet
you stated in your letter that uncle William had
sold out it surprised me When I read it What
is the reason that he sold out I Would like to
know What he is a going to dew now
We have easy times hear Now thar hant mutch a going on
in the army Now at this time I think thar Wont
be any fighting dun Now un till the drafted
cowards comes down hear and then us reglers Will
make them dive in to the yelow rascals and see

how it goes I think that the War Will soon
come to a end We have got the dead Wood on
them Now We have got them surounded hear
in Tennessee Now the resilution has past
that We hafta fight it their Was a man from
sincinaatia made a speech the other day
he said that We Would hafta fight it out
I am Willing to dow my part in putting down
this rebillion the order Was read last Night
at dres prade last Night that the
soldiers could get a furlow for 30 days,
I think When I get payed off I Will get
a furlow and come home and see the girls
I am pirtner dead to see them I think it
Will dew them good to be hu[g]ed by a
Soldier you can tell the girls so
I bought a pair of boots the other day
for 5 dollars the tops of them comes up
a bove my knees they air tip top
boots I am a going to Murfreesboro to get
my picture taken to send it to my dar[k?]
She is the best Looking Girl in ohio
that is so you dont now hur tha is so

I hant got mutch to Write this time I Was
glad to hear that the trash is all a geting
Maried give my Love to Jane zigler and
Lib hockman and Jane Hockman and all
inquireing friends I would Like to see
you all once more Frealin take good cair
of my colt and I Will pay you for it When
I get back I Was at meeting Last Night
down in the 2 kentucky regment it Was
the first time that I have bin to meeting
for four months it mad me think of home
but thair Was Now Girls thair for me
to go home With I saw a girl the other
day She Was the best Looking
girl that I ever Seen T.B. vorhees
and Wesly Beatty sends thair Love and
best respects to you all me and Wes
and bit cooks and sleeps togeather
I sent $10 dollars home by D.R. Grean in
a Letter you can go over and get it When
he comes home Give my Love to George
Whitcraft and tell him to Write me a Letter
