Augest 23th /1863
Dear Child we are camped
on the bank of the comberlon
river at Nashville. I left the
hospital at Murfrees on the 10
of Augest. I got to lavergn at
sundown the boys was mutch
pleased to se me I was gon three
months from the Company. the
79 ohio regment and ous are to
geather. the boys all are in good
heart. I got to lavergn on sun
day and on wednsday we marched
to Nashville. I was not very well
yet the captain sent me on
the cars. I am doing duty
now. I come of picket to day
I stood some three miles oup
the river. it is very hot
here and the musqueaters is very
bad

darling I got aletter from
Abi and Almira. dated th 22
of June that is the last I halve
heard form home. I got your
letter that you wrote on the
fift of June I got it the last
day of June. Elick rote to the
Liunt to no if I was dead or
not he wonted him to rite and
let him no whare I was and
how I was. I am with the
my company and the compan
