Biography: 

Arthur Martin (b. ca. 1847) was Delaware County, Pennsylvania textile mill worker. He mustered into service as a private in Co. G, 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. Martin mustered out of service with his company on November 9, 1865 and in 1870 was back in Delaware County, married with a baby daughter. His letters are written to his sister, Mary Ann Band, and are part of a much larger collection consisting of 105 letters written by his brother-in-law, William Band, to Mary Ann.
