Dear Mother
I sit down
by our little stove to night
to write you a few lines as I am
very much tired as we left
Camp Meary this morning and
marched over to Tennesltown
north of Washington we passed
through washington and through
Georgetwon we are not far
from the Chane bridge that
gross [1] the Potomac it was
awful mudy the boys walked
in the mud over the shoes
I was one of them. we did not
ge that box yet we got
the [jeck?] last evening I think
we get it to morrow I was
glad to hear of you this

in our new Camp but I
was sorry to hear that my
brotherinlaw is sick but
if it's gods will he will
get better again Anson [1]
as you state is Geting better
again I received the letter
that my brother
wrote and the one that anson
wrote I could hardly believ[e]
that anson wrote it it
was very good writen
I received all your letters
so far, I can not write
well we have nothing
fixed up yet Capt told
me that Anson wrote
him a letter to come in
our company I hardly can
wrest because you can
not do if he wants to
come I cant not help

I will sent all my money
home mother you will
pay all the dept of[f] as
far as it reaches do pay
it to malinda [3] for the
buggy now mother do
not trouble your self
about I try to get through
I exspect to move away
hear to verginia in a few
days this will be a
struglin war but short
I am well at present thank
God I hope it may find
you in the same health
I can not tell much
of our Camp to night
I can not tell you about
Cas Darkeys wich
she wrote as I want to
sent this letter of[f] in the
morning

I just spoke with Capt [4]
he is affraid if you get
sworn in in Pennsylvania
they would sent you to any
place I think he wrote
the circumstances
but I would sooner see
If you would stay with
mother do not sent any
thing for me Till I sent
for it Rigerd G. Roge[r]s [5]
writes them letter in the
Courier he bunks with
me all the name that you
seen in the paper I must
come to a close I wil write
more in the next write soon

I just took my breckfast
this morning I am a little
stiff this morning We have
a nice warm stove I had Coffee
and bread beef that is the
ten lbs more I gained
do not sent my thing we
will move over to Verginia
hurrah for Union

we are in Gen. Keys Division
I do not know the name
of our Brigadier Genl.
